Day 2 Kirimatiya – a Tamil village in the hills and Kiran’s arrival!

An early tuk tuk trip today with Susantha to WDC where I dropped off the donation of children’s clothes, school stationery, spectacle frames and medicines.

And then to Kirimatiya, the Tamil village in the hills that I’ve visited several times before and been able to support with getting wifi connection, a computer and other supplies. In the past though I always visited with Joe. The children who he played cricket with wondered where he was and how he was getting on.

Closely followed was a trip to the village school where we gave out stationary equipment and committed to buy more equipment to be delivered later in the week as well as finding a way of getting them a new computer for the community centre.

And of course a highlight was Kiran’s arrival in Sri Lanka’ after a convoluted journey via India. So pleased she’s here safely and in time for the start of our trek tomorrow.

If you missed the yesterday blog then here it is.

Further sponsorship – if you’d like to help me to help those in need in Sri Lanka at this difficult time, whilst being assured every penny will go to those who need it, then please donate by clicking on this link.
